But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. – Galatians 4:4-5
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. – Philippians 2:5-8
Almighty, Creator God joyfully put aside His power and glory to be wrapped in helpless baby flesh! The same One who upholds all things, allowed Himself to be held by parents.
Jesus didn’t just come to be an example to us or reveal God to us, but He came to give His life so that we might live in and through Him. God will be revealing “the immeasurable riches of His kindness” to us through Jesus Christ for all of eternity. (Ephesians 2:7) What a truly “inexpressible gift” we have in Jesus Christ!
