Day 29: Jesus Christ is Faithful and True

Breathe in God’s Truth

Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself.

Revelation 19:11-12

Passages to Study: Hebrews 3:1-6, 1 John 5:20-21; 2 Timothy 2:1-13

Questions to Consider

  1. Why are all of God’s attributes of greatness necessary for Him to keep His promises to us? Why do those attributes (omniscience, all-seeing, timelessness, omnipotence, incorruptibility, etc.) give us further comfort that Jesus Christ will fulfill all that He said He would?
  2. Why is it of utmost importance that God can not lie? If Jesus Christ is truth itself, is there anything or anyone greater you could put your trust in?

Breathe out Your Response

Dear Jesus,
Thank you that we can rest secure in your untarnished and unchanging nature. Because You are all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-powerful, there is nothing that can stop You from fulfilling Your promises to us. Because You can not lie, we can trust every word implicitly. Help me to place my faith completely in Your unchanging Word today.
