Breathe in God’s Truth
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
John 14:1-3
Passages to Study: John 3:29-30; Ephesians 5:25-33
Questions to Consider
- The key passage uses the same language a bridegroom would use when he is planning to build a family room on the side of his father’s house for his new bride and family to come. How does this shape your perspective about heaven and the family atmosphere that will be there?
- How does Christ’s picture of us, the church, as a body shape your perspective on those who are difficult to love? How does Christ’s love for us help change your perspective?
Breathe out Your Response
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for giving us earthly pictures of the type of commitment and love you have for us both individually and as a unified body. Thank you for your sacrificial love for us, and for modeling how we should care for one another within the different relationships we encounter here.
