Breathe in God’s Truth
But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Titus 3:5-6

Questions to Consider
- What have I been saved from if I am trusting in Christ as my Savior? (See Acts 26:18, Colossians 1:13, and John 3:16-21)
- According to the key passage above, what was Jesus’ motivation for becoming our Savior? How does this help you to view “good works” both before and after salvation? In other words, what have you been saved from and what have you been saved to?
Breathe out Your Response
Dear Jesus, thank you for rescuing us from sin’s power and penalty. I was once dead in my sin, held captive by evil desires, and destined for destruction. But, You came to Earth as a loving Savior to rescue and redeem me for all of eternity.
