True Wisdom – James 3:13-18
31. True Wisdom won’t make sense to the world.
Romans 1; 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:16
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s. (1 Corinthians 3:18-22)
Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. (1 Corinthians 2:6)

- What are some specific aspects of God’s character, His Word, and His commands seem completely backward to unbelievers? How do pride and unbelief fit into this mindset?
- Why is it impossible to reason someone into believing God’s way is the only way? Has logic ever saved anyone? Whose responsibility is it to soften hearts and open blind eyes? How can our responses or attitude help or hinder the Spirit in this role so that He works in spite of us rather than through us?
